Reincarnation Blues Review

Reincarnation Blue

By Michael Poole

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review

Reincarnation Blues is a new novel by author Michael Poore that follows one of the oldest souls to walk the planet. Milo and every soul on Earth has ten thousand lives to live die and be reincarnated. The whole goal of living so many lives is to figure out how to live a perfect life so that in the end the soul can become one with the universe. At the beginning of the book Milo, the main character, only has five tries left. The book looks back on some of Milo’s previous attempts at a perfect life as he ponders where he went wrong each time and how he can finally get one life right. He is joined by cosmic powers who take on the form of old women to guide and support Milo on his journey. Through the flashbacks and the present storyline readers meet a grim reaper deathlike character who calls herself Suzie. She becomes Milo’s love interest in the story and his biggest supporter.

Reincarnation Blues is so well written that it can explore the philosophical meaning of what a perfect life means while also delivering witty lines and comical jokes. For example, who would have thought that death could get tired of her job and open a candle shop in the afterlife? There are so many life lessons that Milo learns throughout his ten thousand lives that can be absorbed into the life of the reader while being witty and charming.

I loved this book! The story was unique and fun and humorous, which is difficult because of the main topic of the book being death. The characters were well thought out and relatable. Overall, I think that this is a wonderful book that everyone should read, and I am highly recommending it.
