This week's book is another Stephen King novel. Sleeping Beauties is a recently published darkly inclined novel by Stephen King and his son Owen King.
In the book a mysterious epidemic is covering the world at an alarming speed. The only thing that the illness seems to do is make the women of the world go into a deep sleep and covers them in a thin cocoon. All women except one "Eve Black" falls asleep leaving men alone in the world.
While men argue and fight, the women are transported mentally to another world where they work together to survive. The men break break down into warring factions over what to do with Eve Black. Some want to kill her others think that she is the only way to save everyone. No matter what sides men have taken they must bring back the woman or figure out how to live without them.
Personally I found Sleeping Beauties disturbing, suspenseful and hard t o put down. All the characters are so human and relate able and the stakes are unbelievably high. The emotions throughout the book are so raw and nail biting. This book was absolutely brilliant dark and amazing. Please go read it!!
