This book came from the Tattered Cover at Denver Pop Culture Con. When I heard there was a graphic novel written by George R. R. Martin, and that the graphic novel had nothing to do with Game of Thrones I snagged myself an autographed copy.
Starport is a science fiction novel that is based in a world where 10 years ago representatives from a collective of 314 alien races came to Chicago and set up a Starport. All 314 alien species are welcome on Earth and use the Starport for business, entertainment and basically any use they might need.
Charlie Baker is a newly assigned detective to the unit that oversees the Starport. As an alien fanatic he is overjoyed to be working the Starport, that is until he finds a terrorist group that hates aliens and a very important alien diplomat is killed. Charlie's squad has to solve the crime before the aliens riot.
The story is undoubtedly amazing, it's from George R. R. Martin, but what is better than the writing is the amazing artwork. Raya Golden did an unbelievably great job with the artwork. She made the city so alive and the action so vivid and the aliens so awesome.
